Colsman Forming offers a comprehensive range of surface finishes, all of which are performed entirely in-house. This enables us to ensure consistently high quality, short turnaround times, and a cost-optimized process chain—especially when combined with our upstream forming processes. The result is components that are impressive both technically and economically.

In the field of anodizing, we focus on technical anodized coatings that are specifically designed for demanding industrial applications. These coatings are characterized by high hardness and excellent resistance to strongly alkaline media. Our anodized surfaces have proven their worth, particularly in highly abrasive processes in the textile industry as well as in medical and sanitary technology, thanks to their robustness and durability. Even under extreme operating conditions, the components remain fully functional and resistant to wear over the long term.
Through pickling, we produce metallically pure, absolutely clean surfaces that are indispensable, particularly for applications in the pharmaceutical industry. The process removes scale, oxides, and even the finest residues, thereby creating a surface that meets the highest purity and hygiene requirements. This quality is crucial for components used in sterile or particularly sensitive environments.

Electropolishing produces stainless steel surfaces of outstanding quality. The electrochemical removal process results in an extremely smooth, shiny, and hygienically optimized surface. In addition to their high-quality appearance, the components benefit from significantly reduced surface roughness, improved corrosion resistance, and reduced adhesion of particles or media. This makes the process ideal for medical technology, the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as for all applications in which stainless steel must meet the highest functional and aesthetic requirements.

With glass bead blasting, we use fine glass beads to create a particularly even, matte, and uniform surface. This process is significantly gentler than traditional sandblasting and does not structurally alter the material’s surface; instead, it gently compacts the edge area. This results in a high-quality surface that is free of discoloration, minor burrs, or fine impurities.
Glass bead blasting is ideal for components that require a defined surface texture, a uniform appearance, or a clean, reproducible pretreatment for subsequent processes. Since the blasting process is carried out entirely in-house, it remains closely integrated into our production chain—ensuring short turnaround times, high reproducibility, and maximum process reliability.

Since all surface treatment processes at Colsman Forming are performed in-house, our customers benefit from an integrated, closely coordinated production chain. The combination of forming technology and surface finishing from a single source enables short lead times, maximum process reliability, and highly cost-effective overall production.
