A process with many advantages.

Thermoforming at Colsman Forming

Colsman Forming stands for precise and cost-effective deep-drawing technology—from simple formed parts to complex assemblies involving multiple processing steps. We combine state-of-the-art press technology with automated processes and digital process design.

High-Performance Machinery

Five hydraulic presses (some of which are triple-acting) and five eccentric presses are available for deep drawing. This combination allows for a high degree of flexibility in terms of part geometries, material thicknesses, and lot sizes—from pre-production to robust series production.

Complex Components, Mastered with Confidence

We manufacture complex deep-drawn parts that involve multiple forming and post-processing steps. Our experience across the entire process chain, combined with close coordination between design, simulation, and manufacturing, ensures consistent, reproducible results.

Automated Manufacturing with Robotic Assembly

To ensure consistent quality and high efficiency, we rely on automated material feeding via robotic placement. This enables short cycle times, clean processes, and high repeatability.

Upstream and downstream processes from a single source

In addition to deep drawing, we handle all relevant process steps:

  • Laser Cutting and Trimming
  • Surface treatment
  • Assembly of complex subassemblies

This ensures that you receive complete components and assemblies from an integrated production chain.

Digital Process Design Using FEM Simulation

Even before production begins, we analyze the forming process using FEM simulation. This allows us to optimize material flow, crack and wrinkle formation, and springback, as well as tool design, at an early stage—ensuring maximum process reliability and minimizing the number of iteration cycles.
